Karen, I think that if you want to know how to deal with suicide bombers, you go to the people with most experience with them. There is nothing sinister about this. Chris is an anti-Semite and continually blames the those who are trying to protect the citizenry from the murderers. Hence the subject, which I have replaced.
I suppose the point of view of the anti-terrorists changes a lot when failure leaves bodies and limbs strewn about the place. I remember when I was 16 going home for breakfast after an all night raid. A lady called out "Warden!" - thereby promoting me - I was a lowly Messenger, but I was wearing a steel helmet. "Warden, can you do something about that?" I turned and there was a mess of bloody entrails in the middle of the road. (They had actually been blown right over a church.) I said I would deal with it - then continued home to breakfast. Which I devoured happily, read the paper and went to sleep. Callousness? Not really - just facing the reality of things. And this was a minor incident - nothing like the situation in Israel - or now in Britain. Thanks for once again giving us a useful cite.
