yes, currently we have thousands of users authenticating via UNIXPASSWD on
our firewall.
this has to stop.
therefore a solution using mx proxy to authenticate before access to the
internet is granted hopes to be a viable solution. ms proxy hopes to also
relieve the problem of having to change everyone's ie proxy configuration.
in addition, ms proxy would log and cache.
the later use, however, could not be realized in an alternate authentication
solution such as radius or an ldap server. although i'm particularly leaning
towards the ldap server and the heck with logging and caching.
