*calculate* - That is less than 400 users per server/proxy which comes close to the
upper limit. Microsoft recommends less than 1000 users per MS proxy. Simply
calculate other combinations (e.g. Squid on BSD) on how many you need and how much
(less) it will cost you.
For example my former employer had to choose between 2x Sun E450 with Netscape
Proxy for ~130k DEM and 18x (!) Compaq servers with MS Proxy for ~ 670k DEM...
Even if managers/decisionmakers do not (want to) understand technical specifics -
they know numbers. ;-)
