Can you recall the specific names of a few of these codec's?

Do you know if a ram bump would help video at all in 10.4?
-- ie: reduce the impact of virtual memory issues: if there would be

Do you know if having the video playing off a 2nd drive or the dvd
might help?
-- ie: no conflicts with the OS coming off the same physical drive the
file is playing off of?
