Hello Richard, in my opinion you should stick with OS9 when you want
to squeeze
out Wallstreet's multimedia capabilities. I was pretty amazed to see
most of my divx
files running flawless on my trusty old Wallstreet i...@266mhz, 192 mb
RAM!

Of course I had to change the resolution to 800x600 or lower,
thousands of colors,
and it seems that key to this success was "3vix 4.5.1" which runs
faster than Divx5.
AFAIK you should use these codecs alternatively, but heard from G3
users that regardless to divx5 guide,
you need to use them in conjuction for optimal performance - divx5 for
audio playback (check Use AVI Importer)
and 3vix for video playback. Haven't used it for several months, but as
I remember my last configuration consisted of:
AC3 Codec, WMA Audio i DivX 5.1.1 Codec in Extensions folder plus 3ivx
D4 4.5.1 for OS9
in QuickTime Extensions folder.

When you need to open xvid files, you should get XVIDDelegate, but it
can be used only with divx5 codec, so
if you are going to play regular divx files (with 3vix) remove
xviddelegate from your folder.

Hope that works :)
