Thanks Dan & Clark,
I hadn't thought my 'vid' files were as big as 640x480 but it
appears I was wrong. They are in that ballpark it turns out. I must
say that I'm surprised how 'successfully' they do play all things
considered. The 'avi' files are kind of a bonus for me - I only picked
it up for a 'potential' portable DVD player at the 'comp recycler' for
10 bucks. Picked up a drive sled off lemswap for another 10.
If a Firewire PcCard I have floating around here works with this
Wallstreet, I'll also be using this 'behemoth' as a portable image
file storage device/viewer. I'm a bit of a shutterbug (he says
laconically) and having a durable file transfer/storage/viewing device
would be a flippin godsend. For sure the wallstreet wouldn't be
appropriate for any editing or god forbid RAW file processing, but a
roomy spare 40gigs of drive space would be uber fantastic. Pop the
20D's CF card in a pc-card adapter copy-copy-copy and uhm uhm
goodness.
