Yes. It will show up as a volume still. It will most likely be a lot 
slower, but as you're not reporting a drive failure (and therefore you 
don't urgently need to back the data up before the drive fails), this 
shouldn't affect you unless you need a fast turnaround on the transfer. 
If you have USB 2.0, it's probably a negligible difference to be honest.
