Is the software in quesion not being marked as 10.5 or higher? Leopard  
doesn't support G3 and Snow Leopard doesn't support PowerPC. Tiger  
software will begin to become as thin on the ground as Panther over  
the coming months. I'd suggest that from 28/08/2009 you should only  
update software on a Tiger machine if you've verified it is compatible.
