this doesn't surprise me at all. I already had this happen with apps  
after 10.5 came out and authors updated
for 10.5. I talked with a few authors and the two main reasons for  
discontinuing G3 support were/are: 1. Optimization for altivec /sse2/ 
sse3 2. taking advantage of 10.5's new built-in features like sqlite  
DB support.
I don't really expect video game authors to keep publishing GameCube  
titles either even though just like
my ibook its still a useful and capable piece of G3 hardware. Is the  
ppc linux versions still supporting the G3?
maybe thats a way to go since there has been a bunch of advances in  
user friendliness over  the past couple years.
