I can say that for some folks this is a simple task but for others it's not.
You must start with the proper install of OS9, not an upgrade disk, also a
firmware up date before you even get close to the machine with Tiger. Tiger
also needs RAM

Some of the folks are going from "OSX what ever" to Tiger , a clean install
is the best way if you have the correct install disks, That means OS9 first.
Plus some people because they are used to the "Old World" machines don't
realize you can't do a finder drag with OS 9.2.2 and Tiger and expect a
functioning system.

You must do the OS 9.2 and 10,4 plus combo and all the security along with
the Java crap before the machine will respond properly , after that you're only
restricted by the processor speed. A copy of DiskWarrior is an invaluable tool
that can save a lot of time for an installation like this. It will magically
fix a lot of stuff that others say it can't , but it's the best $99,00 you'll
ever spend. You have to remember Tiger came out after the G3 PowerBooks. I know
this first hand, I have a Wally on XpostFacto Tiger booting an 80GB drive. Plus
I can boot externals with that G3. Wallstreet 300MHz.
