Unfortunately, 2 won't work very well because HTML5 video is done over h.264, which is even worse than Flash on older G-books. The best video format I've found they can handle is MPEG 4.
6 is the way to go. The sad thing is, when watching Flash video on my 2.16C2D MacBook Pro my processor usage still goes up a good 40-50%. Flash is horribly inefficient on Macs. I dug a 500MHz P3 Dell laptop out recently, and it plays Flash video just fine as well as h.264 with VLC!
