Ditto, and ditto. I was a latecomer to the computer world, having spent my early years in a communist country where use of computers was very restricted and, to this day, Internet access is flatly denied to the population. And I was a late switcher to Apple (since Panther). So of course I missed on the whole Apple mystique era (now obviously gone), and I also take all kinds of politics with a grain of salt. Or a barrel. I find a lot of Apple products superior in all the aspects that count for me, and that's why I prefer using them. And I find most of them fascinating, even when I don't have any use for them (like the iPhone, or the aforementioned iPad). Moreover, I think Jobs is a brilliant entrepreneur, and I think a lot of his irksome decisions seem to be good ones from a strictly financial standpoint --like when taking a sudden "Intel only" stance he screwed both his loyal customer base and his competition. That does not mean I like him, or look up to him, or that I think that Apple gives a flying rat's behind about me. I'm not that easily deluded.
