As near as I can recall I had already partitioned the drive with a 50% Mac 
partition and 50% empty and installed Tiger on the former.  I then booted from 
the LiveCD and ran the installer.  When it got to partitioning I had it use the 
"Use all free space" option.

I think I had to mod the xorg.conf.  I'd have to go and look to find out.  If
