I apologize for my lack of vocabulary,but I presume that the g4 is acting as a router and the modem should be dumb as reported here: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13600
the problems shown seem to be like mine--not speed so much as disconnection my modem is a westell 6100 which verizon chat says wont work with 2 computers.
