Verizon wants to use the bandwith speed test to decide whether the
modem is working.
That test is fine.

I'm not happy with, but I'm limited to Verizon.  I can buy their
wireless modem for the same price as your netgear, but that doesnt
solve the problem, it avoids it.

That's what I tried with Verizon--they wont even admit its their modem.
