Lilly: OE's message store is likely in the Documents folder (default); messages are not a part of the application. So when you open the new version it is reading the old message store. IIRC, the Microsoft User Data folder contains a file simply called Database along with prefs and caches, sigs, etc. If you create a new identity all of these default files (except the Newsgroup Cache which is shared), are created as empty containers awaiting storage. You might try the new identity to verify that all of the functionality is correct and then move the default 5 or 6 files into the new identity folder. You should study this structure first and use backup files. This article shows about identities and creating them: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;280525 In the end, OE may not read the database, but it's worth a shot.
