My powerbook is the one with 2 megs video ram. Panther installs fine 
but the 2 megs cannot deal with the video. Strange and annoying 
artifacts. Turn video to 8 bit and all is well as can be under 8 bit. 
Regarding open firmware, The only way to get into open firmware on this 
model(500 mhz bluechip g4) is to use the Xpostfacto control panel and 
select Open Firmware with Keyboard input and AltXXX (the LCD) as 
Output. In open firmware it will not recocgnize reset_NVRAM or 
reset_all. So I have Found that those who say that open firmware is 
used on all PCI based macs are true, the Until Xpostfacto came along I 
for one was not able to get to the Open Firmware prompt. By the way, I 
am back to Jaguar on this guy. Yeah, Just for the 12 bit video. :)
