All I said, is that this is not needed. Normally at least. So I wouldn't
say one should start with that setting to on. But I suppose it's not
harmful to have it on, but unecessary.

you may need to apply a firmware update or install a new driver."
(Though this is not Panther specific compatiblity unfortunately)

There seem to be some incarnations of WS machines that do have problems,
so even if I didn't have this in either the WS I or WS II, some machines
may still have problems. It certainly seems to be fixable.

I did try the drivers from 10.2.8, but I didn't find them to be faster
really, so I reverted to Panther only. I never used millions of color,
due to performance issues.
