re;you ask many things,I will concentrate on printer,canon works with mac OS, OSX only some drivers are available, check website for compatable to your machine". canon has large indivdual ink tanks,I've had good luck useing refill ink kits from sams club for 19 dollars,but for 11x17 paper?(I dont know) if you have a store close to you,put your news letter work on a zip disc and have it printed at kinko's on a laser copier.much cheaper per page than home printing.my home printer is BJC3000,and does many things well and easily,but its loud and slow if there is alot of anything to do. and despite haveing practice and being careful,I often make a mess refilling,I keep that out in the garage.good luck and best wishes
