Just some input on printing... if you have Office Depots and Staples then
you are likely to have Print houses. Often called Jobbers these are small
print shops that live on flyers and cheap print jobs. We have a club
newsletter printed at a 'printers' as the editor lives in a rural area. You
may have to design it in 11X17 and print it on 81/2 X 11. Some applications
will break it down for this and you do a paste up. And the printer will
shoot your output to create a printing plate. Sometimes they'll take on a
job at a good rate as they like a repeat client.

I agree with Kathi that getting a decent 11X17 printer for little money is
unlikely. The only one that comes to mind is one by Apple which was really a
Canon BJC-820. It's a SCSI printer, connects to the Macintosh via the SCSI
port. Interesting concept but as I remember they tended to waste ink each
time a SCSI device passed some data along the SCSI bus. The Canon driver was
better than Apple's based on faulty memory. Shreve Systems still lists
them... low resolution compared to modern and where the ink carts would come
from....

Good luck.
