Actually, I have one of the very first Beige G3/266 MT's ever made
(announced in November, arrived in November :-) and mine came with a
built-in ZIP Drive.

I'm all but positive mine is a Rev. A, not a Rev. B or C.

I would think that you could get a really LARGE FireWire HD for under $200
to plug into your PCI card and dedicate part of that as a back-up source.

I have, and it works pretty darned well! No slave issues. It's just another
drive that mounts. Retrospect backs up fine to it too!
