I can assure you that this isn't always the fact.  I have bought drives in the
last month from Fry's electronics, CompUSA and Local Mac stores in the last
month.  I have 6 boxes sitting right here.  None of them say anything about
Quantum on the outside of the box, and 4 of the 6 were Quantum drives relabeled
as Maxtor.  I can send you a Pic of the labels.  They all say:

Maxtor
Diamondmax/Diamondmax Plus
Buffer size:
Access time
Yada yada yada.

Nothing about them being Quantum drives.

I need to go take all these boxes to the garbage now.  ;-)
