Re; 7200 rpm diamond /maxtor or IBM drives,I prefer the IBM,as for performance,well I cant tell any difference between the two yet,Im unable to get IBM locally,but maxtors are a dime a dozen here,with extended store replacment warranty,IBM I have to send away for everything.for practicality until IBM are availabe at a store I go into in person and get something done,Im just doing the best of poor choices.your mileage will vary,My WD's all lasted three years within a couple of monthes of each other
