the premium grease is better, the pads are used largely to make
manufacturing easier.  like i said the films come in several grades,
including one that's actually very thin aluminum foil with a coating on
both sides (used only when electrical insulation isn't needed).  also
remember, those temperature probes aren't calibrated at the factory, as
i recall the tolerance is about 4 deg C, and the offset can also be
about 4 deg C, meaning the true temperature, worst case, could be 10-25
deg F from what the sensor reads.  also, the sensor only measures temp
on one small part of the chip, towards an edge, there can be spots that
are hotter on the processor.  also make sure all the clamps are on
right, sometimes they can fool you and pop off later.

So, in the middle of concern over corporate honesty, and the honesty of
Dick Cheney and Haliburton, the DOD gives Haliburton a $10 million
dollar contract to build prisoner cells for quantanamo bay, something
they've never done before, and hardly related to the oil equipment
business, now that's leadership by example, bad example.
