Apology accepted, Tim...
I am 64yrs old and been in the hospital a number of times with some chronic
diseases, and I know nursing can be a frustrating and wearing job. I always
try to be a happy and cooperative patient and have made a number of good
friends with RNs over the course of the years.

As for equipment, I have worked in the graphic arts all of my life, first a
small press operator, then 4-color stripper, color specialist and separator,
and worked on Macs for the last 15 years. It is surprising to see the
equipment that some very reputable shops use. For instance I work for one of
the most successful label companies in U.S. right now and I am responsible
for creating, modifying and preparing art for output for clients like
Coca-Cola, Starbucks and Quaker, to name a few. The art I handle is
responsible for multi-million dollar accounts.
The machine I use is a 9600. I am a one-person and one-Mac department.
I take some of the larger files home to work on and use my G3. I am thinking
of moving up to a 933 G4 at home but was concerned about the transition. I
didn't want to spend a lot of money on new software.
I believe if you check with others who work at large companies they will
tell you pretty much the same thing. There seems to be a real ignorance as
to the need for a fast Mac when there are several hundred Dells in the
company still running Windows 95 and working fine. Extremely frustrating.

Take care...

Kathi
