True, but that's also why you get the lost documents from applications 
that freeze with no chance of recovery and you get the BSOD staring you 
in the face several times per week.  Let the Microsoft darlings 
continue with their backward compatibility with Windows 3.1 apps and 
all of the other PC crap that goes along with it.
Those are the reasons why I left the PC platform back in November of 
2001 and will remain a loyal Mac user until death.
What Mr. 'Afterswift' fails to realize is that the phasing out of Mac 
OS's has been a thing that has been happening for years and is in no 
way new to the Mac.  The Mac Classic ran 6.0.x and 7.0 but that was as 
high as it went.  Try to run 6.0.x on a Quadra....no!  You can't!  Try 
to run 7.1 on a PPC 7200, no you can't and you sure can't run 8.6 on 
your G4 (at least the one I have).  Macs progress hardware-wise and 
software-wise...this is a GOOD thing.  I certainly see no reason to 
celebrate the fact that I can run a DOS app on a Pentium 4!
