Till some months ago I used OS 9 and previous on all the machine at work
and at home.
I was a "Mac OS9 evangelist" against the new OSX.
It seemed to me impossible to fix than OS9. It did not look and work as
my previous MAc OS systems did during the last 13 years.

Then I bought a used Cube, it had the OSX already installed.
Tried to do something. It was fast, easy and ........... rock solid.
Sure, Limewire had great problems, but Limewire only. And Sw/music
piracy ( p2p networking, sorry) is not my job.

Today I use OSX-only machines at home but at work I still use 8.1 to 9.2
(because I have no MONEY to upgrade all those Nubus to G3 machine at one
time and have no time to FIGHT TEACHING the new OS to the co-workers).
Now I realize that I spend too much time fixing the network at work
simply because the network at home (wired and wireless) needs nothing
more then a Carbon copy cloner session every couple of days and a Norton
disk doctor session every 14 days or so.

I use OS 8.1 to 9.2 at work and Im happy because the whole network
needs only one or two restarts during one week.
But, believe me, I would be the happiest man if I had OSX and G4 machine
only at work and if my co-workers had the will to LEARN the new OSX.

My two daughters, 5 and 6 years old, find the OSX at home as easy as the
old OS 9 they had before. Why my co-workers should not find it easy?
They DO NOT WANT TO LEARN the new one simply because the previous one
was not so bad.

My suggestion: buy a used g4s AND go OSX as soon as possible. And leave
OS9 or previous to the beige macs on your own mac museum.
Mine started with a color classic and sys 7and now it stops with a
beige G3 and OS9.1.
They will work good forever.
But OSX will always work better.
