What are the basic issue in over clocking a motherboard? There are
jumper to set the CPUConfig, GrackleConfig and BusConfig.
The end result is the setting of three frequencies BUSClock, PCIClock
and CPUClock.
There seem to be five factors that need to accommodate any changes.
1. The CPU (processor and Level 1 cach -built in)
2. The Level 2 Memory (SO DIMM)
3. The Main Memory (SDRAM, DIMM)
4. The mother board itself with PCI chips etc.
5. The Video Card
If your increase the three clocks you will need to increase the
capability of one or more of these various hardware items.
I am stuck with the motherboard itself. (4)
Moving to 7.5 ns PC133 seems to be a no brainer. (3)
When do I need to change the Level 2 memory module?
When do I need to change the video card?
When do I need to change the processor?
We all know one answer is "try it and see". I would like to hear a
better reasoned approach if possible.

In theory, practice and theory are the same,
but in practice they are different.
