This of course is a G3-list. A G3 user can run an few pre OS X releases, a couple variations of Mac OS X. A G3 user can also run Darwin, BSD, RedHat, Denebian, and SuSE Linux. Serveal of those OS choices on a G3 have more in common with Lindows OS than it does the Mac OS. And if your G3 is a new world machine, you need have no trace of the Mac OS even present. Macs do not exist in a vacuum. There are trends afoot that can have a substantial impact on what computing will be like in the future. Wallmart is a huge marketing force and combined with the push of SuSE, Sun, IBM, and RedHat to deploy similar Linux machines in the corporate world could create some substantial shifts in computing habits and relative OS usage.
