I've been trying to help someone with a blue G3 (OS9 - just upgraded
from 8.6) that has several problems. Some programs will not run. Print Shop
for example will only run if I delete the preferences every time.

While doing this, I noticed that a bunch of the preference files were
151K in size. Looking farther, I noticed that all, or just about, of the
preference files, and the saved documents were either 151K of multiples of
151K (302K etc.).

It seems any saved file is saved that way.

I'm guessing this is causing at least some of the problems. (The UMAX
2100U scanner also doesn't work - it is not seen, but that could be the
scanner.)

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I don't see it.

    Any ideas? Thanks.
