Apparently, their record is no guarantee that they will keep this up.

I develop Java applications. All my co-workers are on JDK 1.4. Have been for
some time, actually. Now, finally, Apple have gotten with the program, and
upped their JDK from 1.3 to 1.4.

However, for me to get on the same version as my colleagues, I will first
have to invest 169 euros in OS 10.2, because the new JDK won't work on 10.1.
Just because. Because Apple feel it's a nice way to force me to buy a new
OS, I presume.

While in fact, it's a nice way to make me walk over to our systems manager
and have him put a big fat Windows 2000 development machine on my desk. For
free.
