Well, removing the above pieces cleared PowerLogix Cache control from my osX
system and restored it to its previous reliability.  Problem solved and thanks
for all the suggestions and help.  I hope this helps others.

I might mention that I've used Powerlogix' cache control in os9 forever and
there is no problem.  Just in X.  Maybe it will work properly for the OWC zifs
in the next upgrade of X as someone suggested.
