Then I'd restart. If you have the Trash set to display in List view, you'll have to reset it, and you'll have to re-uncheck the option to not warn you when you empty the Trash. You'll also have to make a trip to the Appearances control panel to reset your desktop pattern and Finder display fonts. All of that takes about 45 seconds.
