Sorry, but I disagree with Tony, installing these is not a lot of work (in
my opinion)

Do you have the Beige's manuals? If so, they detail, with pictures, exactly
how to do all that you have asked. If not, head on over to apple.com and
download them.

If you want colour photographs, xl68yourmac.com has many upgrade articles
for the beige, so if you are un-confident, download and print them, they'll
take you through step by step.

If you are cautious however, and it appears that you are, invest in a
anti-static wrist strap (before all the comments about touching the case,
leaving it plugged in, not powered on etc come in I KNOW!!!, but best to
avoid the risk?!)

The bus upgrade you are referring to.....you will need jumpers, but the tiny
type found on hard-drives and such. If you over-clock your new processor,
you can change the bus at the same time. I wouldnt just change the bus if
you are unconfident about installing a PCI USB card.

Or, do it in steps, first install the USB card, use that for a week or so,
then put in more RAM, working up to more ambitious projects as you gain
confidence.

Most people on the board are exceptionally helpful. If you get really stuck
with the beige, email me off-list, or post a message on the board to a chap
called Peter, whos knowledge of beige's is outstanding.
