while i agree that WD is a good brand I personally have always been a fan of Maxtor.
I know that maxtor is usually not the "fastest" when compaired to WD but we are talking about small margins here. Dont get me wrong I've had WD, IBM, and maxtor HD's die on me before. Maxtor drives all (even OEM) come with a 3 or 4 year (cant quite recall) warranty. I cant really speak for WD recently, but my WD that died was out of warranty and it wasent 3 years old. My maxtor 40Gb died, i got an advance rma (they send you new drive first, you give them your credit card # it is charged if you fail to return old drive). 2 Days later i had a 60GB replacement and i sent back my old drive. The last thing i know is that maytor drives are about $10 cheaper then their WD counterparts, but then again i've bought all mine OEM. ~Tyler Have a 60GB 5200 in my G3 now and it works flawlessly. As well as a 30GB, 40GB in my PC's. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
