I have read that Seagate drives are excellent, fast etc., but I agree that
the differences may actually not be very perceptible by the user.

I too have purchased all kinds, Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital,
Hammerhead, Connor and fortunately, never had a crash. I do however back up
my data just in case.

20GB drives must be harder to find no and as one responder stated why
bother, the larger drives are just as cheap. I just bought an 80GB Maxtor
drive (7200, 9ms) for $90.00 ($11.33 per 10GB). With large media files
(photos, audio and video) you will soon exhaust 20GB. Seagate have been in
the game a long time I think Hammerhead and Connor may no longer be on the
scene. Seagate is generally highly rated and a bit more expensive but I
don't think you can go wrong with either of the Maxtor or WD drives. I have
both - no complaints.
