An enquiry about DVI (analogue) vs. VGA connectors. I've heard DVI gives a better signal transfer and therefore better graphics than VGA.
I only recently noticed that my Radeon 8500 video card and my IBM P260 (21" flat screen Trinitron) monitor both have DVI as well as VGA connectors, but I've not been able to find a DVI to DVI monitor cable anywhere on the internet. The Belkin website has some, but all the listings specify that they are for DVI digital and from the diagrams I can clearly see that their pin pattern is rather different from the DVI connectors on my video card and monitor, which have three rows of eight square holes, then a small space, then two rows of two squares holes. Moreover, my monitor is one of those seventy pound two page displays and is clearly not digital. So. . . has anyone on the list any experience with DVI vs. VGA connectors? Are the former superior? and can anyone point out where I might obtain a DVI-A to DVI-A monitor cable? Thanks very much. Joel, Ottawa. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
