Hey Santa,

Again, thanks for the reply and encouragement to get started with Jag/X. I
would welcome the link to your post on how to effectively and efficiently
install Jag X on a Beige G3 MiniTower.

NOTE: I might add that I also have a "Apple built to order" G3 Series
400MHz "Lombard" PowerBook (I just replaced the orig. Toshiba Hard Drive
with an IBM 40GB 5400RPM 8MB Cache drive with 512MB of "Low-Profile" SDRAM);
an iMac 400MHz DVD and the Beige G3 500MHz - all networked together through
a Linksys 4-Port Router with High Speed Internet cable connections. I want
to be able to maintain this home/business network and eventually move each
of my Macs to Jag. Hope this gives you some idea of what I gave going here
as a G3 network.

Because my wife is a teacher we were able to get in on Apple's free offer on
the Mac OS X v10.2 Jaguar package that includes a Mac OS v9.2.1 Install CD
(I don't know why they didn't ship the OS 9 boot CD in v9.2.2?), a manual, a
"Getting Started with Mac OS X version 10.2" CD. So I believe I have all of
the necessary Jag/X/9 software (minus the Jag updates) to get the "Jag" show
started.

Let me know if I need to do anything "special" to preserve my network
connections, secure any JagX Updates, etc. before getting started and I
ready to give it a try! Whew...changing operating systems always gives me
the jitters...but I guess now is as good a time as any. I'll start the
"back-up" process this afternoon as I have a project to work on before
messing around with my system.

Best Regards,
