I am not so sure you should just through your hands up and move off. I have a Beige now G4/500, 768 Ram, WD 80 IDE/8 MB Cache, ATI Radeon 7000 and have upgraded using the regular path 10 10.2.4. I also went for the Safari .0.6 version. All is working without a hitch, including my ability to open mail and attachments using Mail. Have you looked at Apples Knowledge base? John
