Could you be more specific as to why ? I'm running a Gossamer 400 with 
a 40 GB ATA in the belly and a 60 GB ATA in the top rack.The 60 GB is 
set , slave to the CD that is set as master.  I have three other Beiges 
set up in the same manner. I have used them like this with OS X 10 all 
the way up to 10.2.4. I have had no problems   I believe you to be 
misinformed, but would like to hear your details if I am wrong.  OS 9 ( 
does not seem to like this configuration since it does not see the 
slave drive but it is not hindered by it's presence. OTH , I don't use 
or need OS 9 anymore tho.
