G4 Dual (mirror doors), 867 MHz, 2GB, 260GB total storage, 10.3.2 Well, this tops off a week of problems. While running Norton Disk Doctor on one of my subordinate internal drives (not the startup, but an IMPORTANT drive nonetheless), the system crashed just as I selected Fix Volume Header Block. When I rebooted, the drive no longer appeared on my desktop. I launched Norton Disk Doctor again---and Disk Doctor can SEE the drive, but says it can't fix it. I ran Disk Utility---same thing, Disk Utility can SEE the drive but says it can't repair it. I ran Norton Volume Recover, which could only find 214 recoverable files (a drop in the bucket), but I can't even recover THOSE files because, get this, they are now 10.2 TB in size. That's Ten Point Two Terabytes. No way. Finally, I ran Disk Warrior, which seems to hang interminably at Step 6---Constructing Replacement Directory. To me, it sounds like the Volume Header Block is hopelessly scrambled on that volume---BUT I MUST RETRIEVE CERTAIN FILES from the volume, and failure is not an option. Job security HANGS on this one, guys---I need the Pros from Dover!! --------------------------------------------------------------- Great Macintosh Products The MacLaunch Store! http://www.maclaunch.com/cgi-launch/store/agora.cgi ---------------------------------------------------------------
