Sonnet Encore 500MHz G4 zif
Radeon 7000
Hitachi DVD ROM (cheap on ebay)
Apple DVD player v3.2, easily installed from system disk using the excellent 'Pacifist'
Formac 19" DVI flat screen (absolutely fantastic!)
I really don't see why DVDs should play back at anything but excellent quality on your setup.
