I recently acquired a Wings DVD decoder card. Installed it in my Rev. 3 DT.
Installed a Pioneer DVR-105 CD/DVD-ROM-R-R/W drive as the sole optical drive (an Apple-compatible CD-ROM-R-R/W drive had been there). Installed DVD Player 1.3 (CD/DVD Driver 1.3.1) with the patches to allow any drive. Machine won't play DVDs ... reports something like "necessary hardware is not installed". Is a gen-u-wine Apple DVD drive actually required (the CD player seems to work fine, but not the DVD player) ? -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
