> The command, once in open firmware, is: reset-nvram > the press return > mac should restart and boot normally
I tried that last night but I got an error message when I pressed return. I finally got a little smarter last night and Googled my question and was taken to a page on MacosX hints that gave the procedures to be used on the Beige. Apparently there is a slightly different set of commands for the beige boxes than for G4s and newer. I tried the procedure in OSX hints but it hasn't fixed my startup problem. This morning when I powered on the computer, I'm taken to what looks like the single-user mode. I typed in fsck -y but it says everything is okay. Now it seems to be stuck in single-user mode as I can't type anything. What the hell?!? I'm almost at my wits end and am going to try removing the PRAM battery and hitting the CUDA switch. Before this problem I did an archive and install so the system should be good. I hope this works. Thanks for your advice. Eric in Phoenix __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
