On both the DT and MT, the Bus 0 cable has only one drive connector, hence only Masters are supported on Bus 0. A special cable will correct this, but the cable will not be according to the EIDE/UATA specification, so Apple never provided such a cable, nor did Apple test for Slaves on Bus 0. On both the DT and MT, the Bus 1 cable has two drive connectors, hence Masters and Slaves are supported on Bus 1.
