I am not sure if this problem would go away with OS X, but in using 9.2.2 when downloading pdfs or just printing from the web page, I sometimes am unable to print. Especially with pdfs. I have Acrobat reader 5.5 on both my G3 w/ OS9, and my PC with W98.
Known problem with Acrobat on OS 8/9. The problem goes away totally if you use the LaserWriter 8 driver. If your printer isn't postscript, then you need to give Acrobat and the printer's backgrounder massive amounts of memory. In the alternative, you can tell Acrobat to print a few pages at a time.
