Greetings all,
Here is a B+W G3 stumperoo for me:
*Two motherboards, both Rev 2, one with a 350mhz CPU
and the other a 400mhz CPU, each OEM and w/ appropriate
Jumper blocks
*Both boards fine, except the 400mhz board has a bad 66mhz PCI slot
*Plan: put 400mhz CPU in 350mhz board, with jumper blocks also moved
(so that I can have 4 PCI slots again)
*Result: 350mhz board with newly acquired 400mhz CPU:
dead in the water, with no success with swapping HDs, RAM, etc.
(I did not attempt the 400mhz board with its new 350mhz CPU)
*Return to original state: once again all things are fine.
Is it possible that some "Rev. 2" CPUs are incompatible w/ some Rev. 2
boards? (all involved pieces are Apple OEM)
Just curious.
Best regards,
Dana
