After the fuser, the most common failure of a LW II, or any other Canon marking engine, is the dc controller, not the ac controller.
The LW's I/O board ships the rasterized data to the dc controller which in turn ships that date to the laser.
The marking engine reports all status to the dc controller which in turn
ships that status to the LW's I/O board. The I/O board displays that
status.
Test your printer using the test button hidden under the removeable panel
on the side.
Depressing the test button should cause a page to be printed.
If no test page comes out, then the problem is most likely in the dc controller, as it is the dc controller which is solely involved in generating that test page and causing it to be printer.
All LW II marking engines are alike. Look for those at your local Goodwill or store, on on the sidewalk.
Used LW IIs with many good parts can be had for free (sidewalk) to $5 (Goodwill "bargain barn").
Don't pass up a LaserJet II as this has many parts in common with the LW
II. However, the case, dc controller and I/O board are unique between the
two very similar products.
