Kathi7/31/04 1:56 PM Three reasons why I want to stick with my Laserwriter. (1) Connections. I can hook this machine up to my old LCII, Quad or G3 all at once. I don't want to mess with USB, unless it is USB2 or firewire. (2) Postscript. It is very important to me to have postscript. (3) I do studies and print out lots of multiple reports. A laser printer is much more economical than ink jet in the long haul. I have had this LWII since 1992. This is the first time I have had any problem. I typically get 3,000 copies from one $85 cartridge.
When I finally buy a new G4 or G5, then I will look at a new printer. But Apple makes very good machines. The G3's are working fine and are fast enough. The only reason I will buy is when they finally do bite the dust or if newer technology makes it impossible to be compatible on a large scale any longer. Kathi > I use lots of older stuff.
