since you seem to be familiar with the laserwriters, what would most likely cause the
printed to get lighter and darker along it's length?  i've got one ( personal 
laserwriter
ntr, which i think also uses the cannon engine)  that's doing that i'll be fixing in a
couple of months (and several other laserwriters for parts or to fix).  any help would 
be
greatly appreciated, i've tried a new toner/drum cartridge already and it makes no
difference.  i had fixed another problem it had and it worked great, until i took it 
back
to my friend and it had a bumpy ride in the car (4 hour trip, bad shocks, it wasn't too
clever of me...).  i've checked all of the connections of course.  i'm suspecting a 
power
supply problem, possibly the high voltage power supply.
